I have had a couple of bad experiences, but after eating there a few hundred times since they opened (and other places as well), they have great food 98% of the time. No place is perfect. I"ve ventured out to try the other food on the menu and it's all been well above average.  The Catfish Christopher sounded a bit upscale for a place like Mel's but it was just as good as the burger and better than their famed chicken fried steak.
